Deciding to name their most recent album
Destiny Fulfilled, Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle
Williams inevitably invited questions. The title seems to
declare that the three have completed their job, that theres
nothing left to say.
Dont count on it. Knowles may go back to her wildly
successful solo career, and Rowland and Williams to their
moderately successful ones. There may also be extended pauses
for parenting, but as long as theres a market for Destinys
Child as opposed to simply Beyonce, its a safe bet that
we can count on the inevitable reunion tours. Cases in point:
the Supremes, the Beach Boys, etc.
The title Destiny Fulfilled in fact referred not to the completion
of the trios destiny, but to the longstanding plan they
had to get back together for a sixth album following the break
they took to pursue their solo careers in 2001. We always
said we were going to do solo records after Survivor and then
