New seats

Sleeping in the sky just got a little more comfortable with the newly revised bed-style seat available to JAL first-class passengers. New B747s will offer the organic design--curvy and sensual--by London-based industrial designer Ross Lovegrove, who is becoming increasingly popular for his sculpture-like style. Neutrals such as green, gray, ivory and silver add a restful visual aesthetic to the seat. A woolen rug and individual shoebox are among the features that provide travelers with a cozier flight.

Nonstop service

Cathay Pacific Airways will provide nonstop service between Hong Kong and Sapporo every Thursday and Sunday starting in December. The launch of this flight is in response to passenger traffic that fell over 12 percent in September. Delta Airlines will discontinue direct flights from Los Angeles to Nagoya and Tokyo also in December. New York to Tokyo nonstop flights will also end, but Delta’s nonstop service between Atlanta and Tokyo will continue.
